Indexes manager
Indexes are files of special format that are created by the application. In this case the index files are created by SearchInform. These files are the basic reason of the high searching speed. Utilizing several indexes in SearchInform allows to use different search criteria for different data bases and to carry out search separately in every data base.
To create and manage Indexes use the SearchInform Index Manager. You can access it from the main application window in the following ways:
- Menu "Options" - "Indexes manager"
- Click the button
in the managers tool bar if it is switched on.
As a result the following window will be displayed:
In the "Registered indexes" area all the indexes currently mounted to the system will be displayed. If you are going to use the application for the first time, you will have no indexes in this area. So "Create the index" before starting search.
