Amust Software was established by Ratmir Timashev & Andrei Baronov, the owners of Aelita Software, which is known for being sold to a Californian company Quest Software for $115 mil in March 2004 as it became one of the biggest deals in the whole of Russian offshore market. Aelita released sets of products popular on the offshore IT market: server and work station management software for large corporate networks using Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange. Its clientele consisted of more than 50% of companies from Fortune 500 & Global lists, including Siemens, Exxo-Mobil, Pepsi, Delta Airlines, CitiBank etc.

A year after Aelita Software sale its ex-owners announced the launch of Amust Software, and a year later came the decision to invest into Belarusian SoftInform. SearchInform was launched in 1995. First it specialized in promotion of information products for business maintenance, issuing reference books & directories “YurInform”, “BusinessInform” etc. After 1998 the company has changed it’s line of business and decided to specialize in software distribution to Internet users locally as well as abroad. Now this company line includes four products:   iNetAdviser ( this software performs the functions of multi-window browser, pop-up blocker, bookmark manager), iNetFormFiller (lets you fill out various online forms with one click), AdsCleaner (pop-up blocker), SpamBlocker (spam mail blocker).

But the company’s main product is the system of full text search SearchInform. It positions itself primarily as a corporate information search tool in the company’s local network, databases, DBMS, CRM, etc. As of now the company has quite a few basic versions of the software, based on SoftInform Search  Technology presented at the market. It consists of solution for individual users and small businesses as well as another version for corporate clients. They differ both in their price and functions. Beside that, the company offers custom versions of the product based on SoftInform Search Technology. That system was first introduced in the beginning of 2005 and as of now the company has already sold a number of such corporate projects, for instance — to the Belarusian legal advice phone service Alpha Lawyers, whom SoftInform has provided with a full-fledged search engine service. Besides that SoftInform has reached an agreement with the famous developer Hummingbird about using its technologies in Hummingbird’s company’s software.

  In 2005  the company became active on the Russian IT market as it transferred part of its activity here. Now SoftInform software is widely sold on the local market — besides Internet the production is realized with the help of classic distributors, including companies like Akella, Novij Disk, Ravnovesije etc.

20th of January SoftInform Company has released new version of full text search program SearchInform 1.8.02. New version has a number of useful changes, in particular has been made support of .ISO files, as well as new feature to .CSS files in native format.
