The search capacities
The search capacities of this program are quite satisfactory. What’s used in ISYS is actually significantly more powerful that simple support of logical operations. Among the program’s advanced functions are use of synonyms, sorting filters (by path, title and date of creation of the file). Set of logical operators is bigger than a standard one. Beside logical operators, the program supports work with other operators that are sometimes able to replace certain types of search, like, for instance, search with syntactic analysis can very well be replaced by some operators. Absence of morphological search came as a surprise. That’s a huge flaw since the efficiency of search increases a lot when using stemming analysis. Beside that, there is no list of important words, although the list of unimportant words is quite extensive. Among other announced functions were "approximate search" and " heuristic analysis".
ISYS offers to the user a few types of queries, that is, visual types. This is implemented through different types of query windows, yet in reality none of those windows actually offers technologies different from those listed above.
Search results are quite informative, displayed as a list of documents, sorted by relevancy. Lower you can preview the selected document. As opposed to Copernic Desktop Search, preview here is available only in plain text mode, so you can’t preview documents in their own formats, whether it’s Word, Html or PDF, which isn’t really critical in reality. The program lets you sort documents by certain criteria (by default they are sorted by relevancy). You can also look thought already found files selecting separate folders (it’s especially convenient when the result displays a big number of documents).
Using the program in the corporate network is well-justified as it offers reasonable options for organizing search in a network. The search system is based on a shared index, which would contain the indexed data from shared network resources.
Per se, this program from ISYS deserves attention. It’s a mature project with a big array of functions (though not always and not all of them are needed, but still). There is not information of whether there are any chances to see improvements in that program, but even now it can be recommended for the wide usage. Considering that for home systems this program is still too bulky, it’s better put to use in corporate networks.

When you submit your Site for indexing, our full text search engine spider will "crawl" your site, traversing each and every link. Each page is "read" and a "search index" is created. This index is stored on our servers. The HTML code you insert into your page produces a search button and a query text box. It also contains a link back to our full text search engine tool. When a search is requested, our computers search your index and a results page is created. This page is returned to the searcher's browser. Everything happens here. You see the results there.
