General information The AdsCleaner toolbar is a special toolbar, which enables AdsCleaner integration into the Internet Explorer web browser and enhances it with a number of additional capabilities.      Enable/Disable AdsCleaner   Click this button to turn AdsCleaner on and off. When the program is in the Sleep operating mode, the toolbar will appear dim.          Show/Kill banners   Use this button to turn the block advertising feature on and off, as you need it.          Show/Kill popups   Use this button to turn the Popup killer feature on and off, as you need it.          Enable/Disable highlightings   Use this button to turn the links highlighting feature on and off, as you need it.          Show/Don't show link's hints   Use this button to show and hide the pop-up hints, as you need it.          Popup killer settings   Displays the popup-up killer Settings window.          Capture page screenshot   Allows you to manually create web-page screenshots. The button can be highlighted in three different ways:   ·   white - this means the web-page is being visited for the first time, the hyperlink is not present;   ·   red - this means a hyperlink has been automatically saved for a particular web-page;   ·   green - this means the web-page has comments attached   [Comments]   User comments   This button displays the web-page comments status and can be utilized to access the hyperlink comments. The button can be highlighted in two different ways:   ·   red - this means no comments for a particular page are available;   ·   green - this means the web-page has comments attached. Hovering your mouse over the button highlighted green makes the program display the available user comments in a pop-up hint.          Domain links   This button is only accessible if you have visited other pages within the given web-site. Clicking the button makes the program display the complete list of hyperlinks belonging to the given domain. We get accustomed very quickly to the surrounding. Spending much time in the Internet, one can with certainty affirm: we live in the world of advertising. However, it’s quite hard to get used to it. The point is that the advertising is aimed to attract attention. Being guided by this principle, ads makers invent progressively newer and newer kinds of irritants to make the audience react. Thus, when opening a required Web-site, our attention is focused not on the things we have searched for, but on all sorts of banners and pop-up windows. get rid of annoying popup window.

The first thing that caught my eye at launching the application was its clumsy design and awkward interface. Numerous tabs, unnecessary pictures and explanation notes contrasted with the set of options far from being smart. No doubt the features are quite easy to master– considering that the tawdry hints and icons actually provide some information. However, the functions are not enough. As for pop-up blocking, it is perfectly in order. There are even a black list and a white list for the windows headers. But the banners are what AdsGone cannot duly cope with. It is impossible to add unwanted sites to the list of addresses, as well as to disable Flash advertising. One can’t even plainly track spy software (though such a feature is declared) due to the same inability to update the list of hostile applications. The last straw laid by AdsGone to break the camel’s back was an absurd bug in the design. It was revealed when trying to maximize the main window (see screenshot).

Being guided by the criteria listed above, I made bold to declare the absolute winner of the analysis. As you may already guess, it is AdsCleaner.
