Export and import of blacklists The program exports a particular blacklist to a file with an .adl extension. The blacklist Import Wizard reads the source file and compares its contents with your blacklist values. Then it adds new values to your blacklist, thus expanding it.   TO EXPORT A BLACKLIST   1.   Open the program context menu and choose the Settings… command. Alternatively, you can simply click the button on the program toolbar. Clicking this will display the Settings window.   2.    Click the [Block advertising] button in the column to the right. This will display the block advertising settings section.   3.   Click the Export button. This will display the Save file window.   4.   Specify the blacklist file name and destination.   5.   Click the Save button. The program will then generate and save the blacklist file in the directory you specified.   After that, you can copy the file and email it to your friends or fellow-workers, for instance.   TO IMPORT A BLACKLIST   1.   Open the program context menu and choose the Settings… command. Alternatively, you can simply click the button on the program toolbar. Clicking this will display the Settings window.   2.   Click the [Block advertising] button in the column to the right. We get accustomed very quickly to the surrounding. Spending much time in the Internet, one can with certainty affirm: we live in the world of advertising. However, it’s quite hard to get used to it. The point is that the advertising is aimed to attract attention. Being guided by this principle, ads makers invent progressively newer and newer kinds of irritants to make the audience react. The first thing that caught my eye at launching the application was its clumsy design and awkward interface. Numerous tabs, unnecessary pictures and explanation notes contrasted with the set of options far from being smart. No doubt the features are quite easy to master– considering that the tawdry hints and icons actually provide some information. However, the functions are not enough. As for pop-up blocking, it is perfectly in order. There are even a black list and a white list for the windows headers. But the banners are what AdsGone cannot duly cope with. It is impossible to add unwanted sites to the list of addresses, as well as to disable Flash advertising. One can’t even plainly track spy software (though such a feature is declared) due to the same inability to update the list of hostile applications. The last straw laid by AdsGone to break the camel’s back was an absurd bug in the design. It was revealed when trying to maximize the main window (see screenshot).
