AdsCleaner can automatically store and display a fragment of a particular web page you visited as an image called a snapshot. Such snapshots make the page easily recognizable and can be displayed in all the page descriptions, including the pp-up hints.
A web page snapshot can come in useful when you want to get an idea of what kind of web page it is without actually loading it and clicking the link.
If the automatic snapshot function is enabled, the program will automatically crate snapshots for all the web-pages you load with your browser.
CRATING WEB-PAGE SNAPSHOTS
If the automatic snapshot function is disabled, AdsCleaner will not create the snapshots automatically, but you can always manually add a web-page snapshot to the hyperlink properties by clicking the button on the browser bar. A manually generated snapshot is treated by AdsCleaner as part of the used description, which also results in the hyperlink being treated as permanent and moved to the permanent Rubricator area.
The internal AdsCleaner browser features a drop-down list next to the small camera icon o the toolbar. Choosing one of the options from the list will make the program create a page snapshot. The size of the small web page screenshot depends on the option you've chosen in the above-mentioned drop-down list.
CONFIGURING THE PAGE SNAPSHOT SETTINGS
How your web-page snapshot appear on the screen is defined by the following configuration attributes:
To configure your web-page snapshot settings, do the following:
1. Open the program context menu and choose the Settings… command. Alternatively, you can simply click the button on the program toolbar. Clicking this will display the Settings window.
2. Click the [Snapshot options] button in the column to the right. This will display the web-page snapshot settings section.
2. Customize the web-page snapshot settings utilizing the available window controls. To get help on the window elements, click Help.
3. Click ÎÊ to apply your settings.
Please note: the program takes web-page snapshots only when you visit a particular web-page. This means, you have to open a specific web-page at least once with your browser to generate a snapshot.
The program uses smart techniques to automatically tell the unwanted pop-up windows from the necessary pop-ups that appear when you intentionally click a specific link. Sometimes the unwanted pop-ups blocking feature can turn to be nearly a life-saver, when you bump into a bad web site by chance. Many web surfers surely experienced the frustrating situation when some web page virtually bombarded you with numerous pop-ups of dubious value and you could do nothing about it. The only solution sometimes is to reboot your computer, which is exactly the type of thing you'd want to avoid. With AdsCleaner such things just don't happen. On the other hand, if you would like to turn this useful feature off for whatever reason, you can always easily do it right from within the active Internet Explorer window.
